The Covid-19 pandemic has spread across the world at a rate never seen before, affecting different countries and having a huge impact not only on health care systems but also on economic systems. Never as in this situation the continuous exchange of views between scientists of different disciplines must be considered the keystone to overcome this emergency. The dramatic global situation has prompted many researchers from different fields to focus on studying the Covid-19 pandemic and its economic and social implications in a multi-facet fashion. This volume collects the contributions to the COVid-19 Empirical Research (COVER) Conference, organized by the Centre of Excellence in Economics and Data Science of the Department of Economics, Management and Quantitative Methods, University of Milan, Italy, October 30th, 2020. This conference aimed to collect different points of view by opening an interdisciplinary discussion on the possible developments of the pandemic. The conference contributions ranged in the social, economic and mathematical-statistical areas.

Homecare ist ein junger Bereich, der die stationäre Versorgung mit der ambulanten Nachsorge verbindet und sämtliche weitere Versorger koordiniert. In der Praxis scheitert diese Idee derzeit noch häufig an fehlenden oder unpräzisen rechtlichen Rahmenbedingungen sowie Akzeptanzbarrieren. Dieses Buch bietet einen umfassenden Überblick der aktuellen Versorgungssituation im Homecare-Bereich in Deutschland. Es diskutiert den Homecare-Markt und seine Potentiale, die rechtlichen Rahmenbedingungen und gibt einen Überblick über nationale und internationale Studien zur Effektivität von Entlassmanagement und sektorenübergreifender Versorgung. Ein Praxisteil präsentiert Ergebnisse einer umfassenden empirischen Studie, die die Perspektiven von niedergelassenen Ärzten, Kliniken und stationärer sowie ambulanter Pflege zum Thema Homecare untersucht. This open access book offers an overview of theories related to simulation and describes different simulation areas within nursing. It illustrates how simulation may be used in different levels in professional education. The book deals with the role of the Simulation Facilitator, peer learning and the use of Virtual Reality in simulation. Dies ist ein Open-Access-Buch. Im Zentrum des Bands steht die gesundheitsförderliche Gestaltung flexibler Dienstleistungsarbeit. Am Beispiel von technischen Dienstleistungen, d. h. agilen IT-Services, und ambulanten sozialen Diensten werden Belastungskonstellationen und Gesundheitsressourcen von Beschäftigten im Umgang mit Flexibilitätsanforderungen analysiert. Zugleich werden betrieblich erprobte und evaluierte Interventionslösungen sowie Erfahrungen ihres regionalen Transfers diskutiert. Es zeigt sich, dass beide Beispielbereiche flexibler Dienstleistungsarbeit durch relativ hohe Anforderungen an die Interaktionsarbeit mit Kund*innen geprägt, aber in unterschiedliche Interaktionsordnungen eingebunden sind. Vorstellungen von einfacher haushaltsnaher Dienstleistungsarbeit sind in Anbetracht komplexer Interaktionsanforderungen zu revidieren. This open access book is a collection of 12 case studies capturing decades of experience improving health care and outcomes in low- and middle-income countries. Each case study is written by healthcare managers and providers who have implemented health improvement projects using quality improvement methodology, with analysis from global health experts on the practical application of improvement methods. The book shows how frontline providers in health and social services can identify gaps in care, propose changes to address those gaps, and test the effectiveness of their changes in order to improve health processes and outcomes.
